Krusader is an advanced twin-panel (commander-style) file-manager for KDE
3.x (similar to Midnight or Total Commander) but with many extras. It
provides all the file-management features you could possibly want.
Plus: extensive archive handling, mounted filesystem support, FTP, advanced
search module, viewer/editor, directory synchronisation, file content
comparisons, powerful batch renaming and much much more.
It supports the following archive formats: tar, zip, bzip2, gzip, rar, ace,
arj and rpm and can handle other KIOSlaves such as smb:// or fish://
It is (almost) completely customizable, very user friendly, fast and looks

15.2. gentoo (-) [Проблемы с кодировкой аналогично XMMS. Без разлапистых усилий абсолютно непригодна]
gentoo is a file manager for Linux written from scratch in pure C. It
uses the GTK+ toolkit for all of its interface needs. gentoo provides
100% GUI configurability; no need to edit config files by hand and re-
start the program. gentoo supports identifying the type of various
files (using extension, regular expressions, and/or the 'file' command),
and can display files of different types with different colors and icons.
gentoo borrows some of its look and feel from the classic Amiga
file manager "Directory OPUS"(TM) (written by Jonathan Potter).

Beesoft Commander is a file manager (like Norton Commander) for Linux.

15.4.1. gnome-commander (+) [Репозитарий DAG. Достойная Гнома вещь - очень быстрая, хотя и не такая удобная, как Krusader. В хозяйстве может и пригодиться - особенно для FTP и Samba]
GNOME Commander is a nice and fast file manager for the GNOME desktop.
In addition to performing the basic filemanager functions the program
is also an FTP-client and it can browse SMB-networks.

15.4.2. exiv2 (+) [Репозитарий DAG. Устанавливается по зависимости к gnome-commander]
Exiv2 comprises of a C++ library and a command line utility to access image
metadata. Exiv2 supports full read and write access to th Exif and Iptc
metadata, Exif MakerNote support, extract and delete methods for Exif
thumbnails, classes to access Ifd and so on.
The command line utility allow you to:
* print the Exif metadata of Jpeg images as summary info, interpreted values,
or the plain data for each tag (here is a sample)
* print the Iptc metadata of Jpeg images
* print the Jpeg comment of Jpeg images
* set, add and delete Exif and Iptc metadata of Jpeg images
* adjust the Exif timestamp (that's how it all started...)
* rename Exif image files according to the Exif timestamp
* extract, insert and delete Exif metadata, Iptc metadata and Jpeg comments
* extract, insert and delete the thumbnail image embedded in the Exif metadata

17.1. skychart (-) [Проблемы с кодировкой, аналогичные звуковому проигрывателю XMMS]
This program enables you to draw sky charts, making use of the data in 16
catalogs of stars and nebulae. In addition the position of planets,
asteroids and comets are shown.
The purpose of this program is to prepare different sky maps for a
particular observation. A large number of parameters help you to choose
specifically or automatically which catalogs to use, the colour and the
dimension of stars and nebulae, the representation of planets, the display
of labels and coordinate grids, the superposition of pictures, the
condition of visibility and more. All these features make this celestial
atlas more complete than a conventional planetarium.

17.2 ds9 (-)
SAOImage DS9 is an astronomical imaging and data visualization application.
DS9 supports FITS images and binary tables, multiple frame buffers, region
manipulation, and many scale algorithms and colormaps. It provides for easy
communication with external analysis tasks and is highly configurable and
extensible.

17.3. stellarium (+++) [Феноменальная по захватывающей красоте и возможностям визуализации карта звёздного неба!]
Stellarium renders 3D photo-realistic skies in real time. Most important

* Over 120000 stars from the Hipparcos Catalogue with name and infos for the

17.4. LaTex
17.4.1. lyx (+) [По умолчанию устанавливается из репозитария DAG и нормально работает. Но ни в коем случае нельзя обновлять lyx из репозитария EPEL - программа вообще перестаёт загружаться, как и при обновлении inkscape!]
LyX is a modern approach to writing documents which breaks with the
obsolete "typewriter paradigm" of most other document preparation
systems.
It is designed for people who want professional quality output
with a minimum of time and effort, without becoming specialists in
typesetting.
The major innovation in LyX is WYSIWYM (What You See Is What You Mean).
That is, the author focuses on content, not on the details of formatting.
This allows for greater productivity, and leaves the final typesetting
to the backends (like LaTeX) that are specifically designed for the task.
With LyX, the author can concentrate on the contents of his writing,
and let the computer take care of the rest.

17.4.2. Xaw3D (+) [Репозитарий sl-base, устанавливается по зависимости с LyX]
Xaw3d - расширенная версия набора элементов MIT Athena для X Window
System. Xaw3d вносит дополнительный трехмерный вид приложениям с
минимальными изменениями исходного кода или без них.
Установите Xaw3d, если используете приложения со встроенными элементами
набора MIT Athena, а также желаете добавить 3D-вид данным приложениям.

17.4.3. tetex-xdvi (+) [Репозитарий sl-base, устанавливается по зависимости с LyX]
Xdvi allows you to preview the TeX text formatting system's output
.dvi files on an X Window System.
If you are installing tetex and you use PlainTeX or you are using DVI files,
you will also need to install tetex-xdvi which allows you to view DVI files.
Consider installing tetex-dvips (for converting .dvi files to PostScript format
for printing on PostScript printers), and tetex-latex (a higher level formatting
package which provides an easier-to-use interface for TeX). If you are
not a TeX expert, you will probably also want to install the tetex-doc
package, which contains documentation for the TeX text formatting
system.

17.5. Maxima
17.5.1. maxima (+) [Репозитарий EPEL]
Maxima is a full symbolic computation program. It is full featured
doing symbolic manipulation of polynomials, matrices, rational
functions, integration, Todd-coxeter, graphing, bigfloats. It has a
symbolic debugger source level debugger for maxima code. Maxima is
based on the original Macsyma developed at MIT in the 1970's.

17.5.2. wxMaxima (+++) [Репозитарий EPEL]
A Graphical user interface for the computer algebra system
Maxima using wxWidgets.

17.5.3. maxima-runtime-sbcl (+) [Репозитарий EPEL, устанавливается по зависимости с wxMaxima]
Maxima compiled with Steel Bank Common Lisp (sbcl).

17.5.4. sbcl (+) [Репозитарий EPEL, устанавливается по зависимости с wxMaxima]
Steel Bank Common Lisp (SBCL) is a Open Source development environment
for Common Lisp. It includes an integrated native compiler,
interpreter, and debugger.

17.6. k3dsurf (+++) [Репозитарий DAG]
K3DSurf is a program for visualizing and manipulating multidimensional
surfaces by using Mathematical equations. It's also a "modeler" for
POV-Ray in the area of parametric surfaces. It features 3D, 4D, 5D,
and 6D HyperObjects visualization, full support for all functions
(like the C language), support for mouse events in the drawing area,
animation and morph effects, Povscript and mesh file generation, and
support for VRML2 and OBJ files. More than 100 examples are provided.

17.7. galculator (+) [Репозитарий DAG]
galculator is a scientific calculator. It supports different number
bases (DEC/HEX/OCT/BIN) and angle units (DEG/RAD/GRAD) and features
a wide range of mathematical (basic arithmetic operations,
trigonometric functions, etc) and other useful functions (memory, etc)
at the moment. galculator can be used in algebraic mode as well as in
Reverse Polish Notation.

17.8. Octave
17.8.1. Octave (+) [Репозитарий EPEL. На время установки репозитарий DAG необходимо удалить, так как он даёт ошибку в разрешении зависимостей.]
GNU Octave is a high-level language, primarily intended for numerical
computations. It provides a convenient command line interface for
solving linear and nonlinear problems numerically, and for performing
other numerical experiments using a language that is mostly compatible
with Matlab. It may also be used as a batch-oriented language. Octave
has extensive tools for solving common numerical linear algebra
problems, finding the roots of nonlinear equations, integrating
ordinary functions, manipulating polynomials, and integrating ordinary
differential and differential-algebraic equations. It is easily
extensible and customizable via user-defined functions written in
Octave's own language, or using dynamically loaded modules written in
C++, C, Fortran, or other languages.

17.8.2. atlas (+) [Репозитарий EPEL, устанавливается по зависимости с Octave]
The ATLAS (Automatically Tuned Linear Algebra Software) project is an
ongoing research effort focusing on applying empirical techniques in
order to provide portable performance. At present, it provides C and
Fortran77 interfaces to a portably efficient BLAS implementation, as
well as a few routines from LAPACK.
The performance improvements in ATLAS are obtained largely via
compile-time optimizations and tend to be specific to a given hardware
configuration. In order to package ATLAS for Fedora some compromises
are necessary so that good performance can be obtained on a variety
of hardware. This set of ATLAS binary packages is therefore not
necessarily optimal for any specific hardware configuration. However,
the source package can be used to compile customized ATLAS packages;
see the documentation for information.

17.8.3. blas (+) [Репозитарий sl-base, устанавливается по зависимости с Octave]
BLAS (Basic Linear Algebra Subprograms) is a standard library which
provides a number of basic algorithms for numerical algebra. Man
pages for blas are available in the blas-man package.

17.8.4. glpk (+) [Репозитарий EPEL, устанавливается по зависимости с Octave]
The GLPK (GNU Linear Programming Kit) package is intended for solving
large-scale linear programming (LP), mixed integer programming (MIP),
and other related problems. It is a set of routines written in ANSI C
and organized in the form of a callable library.
GLPK supports the GNU MathProg language, which is a subset of the AMPL
language.
The GLPK package includes the following main components:
* Revised simplex method.
* Primal-dual interior point method.
* Branch-and-bound method.
* Translator for GNU MathProg.
* Application program interface (API).
* Stand-alone LP/MIP solver.

17.8.5. hdf5 (+) [Репозитарий EPEL, устанавливается по зависимости с Octave]
HDF5 is a general purpose library and file format for storing scientific data.
HDF5 can store two primary objects: datasets and groups. A dataset is
essentially a multidimensional array of data elements, and a group is a
structure for organizing objects in an HDF5 file. Using these two basic
objects, one can create and store almost any kind of scientific data
structure, such as images, arrays of vectors, and structured and unstructured
grids. You can also mix and match them in HDF5 files according to your needs.

17.8.6. libgfortran (+) [Репозитарий sl-base, устанавливается по зависимости с Octave]
This package contains Fortran 95 shared library which is needed to run
Fortran 95 dynamically linked programs.

17.8.7. qhull (+) [Репозитарий EPEL, устанавливается по зависимости с Octave]
Qhull is a general dimension convex hull program that reads a set
of points from stdin, and outputs the smallest convex set that contains
the points to stdout. It also generates Delaunay triangulations, Voronoi
diagrams, furthest-site Voronoi diagrams, and halfspace intersections
about a point.

17.8.8. suitesparse (+) [Репозитарий sl-base, устанавливается по зависимости с Octave]
suitesparse is a collection of libraries for computations involving sparse
matrices. The package includes the following libraries:
AMD approximate minimum degree ordering
BTF permutation to block triangular form (beta)
CAMD constrained approximate minimum degree ordering
COLAMD column approximate minimum degree ordering
CCOLAMD constrained column approximate minimum degree ordering
CHOLMOD sparse Cholesky factorization
CSparse a concise sparse matrix package
CXSparse CSparse extended: complex matrix, int and long int support
KLU sparse LU factorization, primarily for circuit simulation
LDL a simple LDL' factorization
UMFPACK sparse LU factorization
UFconfig configuration file for all the above packages.

17.8.9. texinfo (+) [Репозитарий sl-base, устанавливается по зависимости с Octave]
Texinfo is a documentation system that can produce both online
information and printed output from a single source file. The GNU
Project uses the Texinfo file format for most of its documentation.
Install texinfo if you want a documentation system for producing both
online and print documentation from the same source file and/or if you
are going to write documentation for the GNU Project.

17.8.10.1. octave-forge (+) [Репозитарий EPEL]
Octave-forge is a community project for collaborative development of
Octave extensions. The extensions in this package include additional
data types, and functions for a variety of different applications
including signal and image processing, communications, control,
optimization, statistics, and symbolic math.

17.8.10.2. cln (+) [Репозитарий EPEL, устанавливается по зависимости с octave-forge]
A collection of C++ math classes and functions, which are designed for
memory and speed efficiency, and enable type safety and algebraic
syntax.

17.8.10.3. ginac (+) [Репозитарий EPEL, устанавливается по зависимости с octave-forge]
GiNaC (which stands for "GiNaC is Not a CAS (Computer Algebra System)") is an
open framework for symbolic computation within the C++ programming language.

17.8.10.4. gsl (+) [Репозитарий atrpms, устанавливается по зависимости с octave-forge]
The GNU Scientific Library (GSL) is a collection of routines for
numerical analysis, written in C.

17.8.10.5. libdap (+) [Репозитарий EPEL, устанавливается по зависимости с octave-forge]
The libdap++ library contains an implementation of DAP2. This package
contains the library, dap-config, getdap and deflate. The script dap-config
simplifies using the library in other projects. The getdap utility is a
simple command-line tool to read from DAP2 servers. It is built using the
library and demonstrates simple uses of it. The deflate utility is used by
the library when it returns compressed responses.

17.8.10.6. libnc-dap (+) [Репозитарий EPEL, устанавливается по зависимости с octave-forge]
The libnc-dap library is a call-for-call replacement for netcdf. It can
read and write to and from netcdf files on the local machine and it can
read from DAP2 compatible data servers running on local or remote
machines. Data served using DAP2 need not be stored in netcdf files
to be read using this replacement library.
Also included in this package is the ncdump utility, also bundled with the
original netcdf library, renamed dncdump, relinked with the library and
thus able to read from DAP2 compatible servers.

Mathgl is a cross-platform library for making high-quality scientific
graphics. It provides fast data plotting and handling of large data
arrays, as well as window and console modes and for easy embedding
into other programs. Mathgl integrates into fltk, qt and
opengl applications

17.11. qwtplot3d (+) [Репозитарий DAG]
qwtplot3d is a graphics extension to the Qt GUI application framework that
provides a 3D plotting widget for scientific data and mathematical
expressions.

17.12. wfmath (+) [Репозитарий DAG]
The primary focus of WFMath is geometric objects. Thus, it includes several
shapes (boxes, balls, lines), in addition to the basic math objects that
are used to build these shapes (points, vectors, and matrices).

17.13. kalgebra (+) [Репозитарий DAG]
KAlgebra is a MathML-based graph calculator.
Besides it was initially mathml oriented now it
can be used by everyone with little mathematic
knowledge.
